Tour of No Regrets
We are travelers who roll slow, taking time to wander down the side alleys to find the coffee and cocktails and art and encounters that bring texture and meaning to a place.
Alaska and the Bergy Bits | September 2026
We spent a week on a small expedition boat, the Uncruise Wilderness Discoverer, exploring the incredible Inside Passage. We saw deep, rich wilderness, lots of whales and eagles, and plenty of mossy rocks. But perhaps the most magical were the glaciers and icebergs. Smaller icebergs are bergy bits, which is a piece of information that may delight me forever and ever.

Ireland and Scotland | May 2026
The green itself wasn’t a surprise. Ireland and Scotland for a month, I knew to expect rain and sheep and whiskey and music and stone walls and potatoes every way and sticky toffee pudding and cobblestones and castles and ruins and rocks and lochs and plaid and wool and maybe some chocolate and tea and plenty of art and friendly folk who are proud of their place. And, obviously, green.
What I didn’t expect was how the always-everywhere-continuous-unyielding-perpetual-enduring-forever green would make me feel.
I could breathe in again. And breathe out, slowly. Relax my shoulders. Unclench my fists. My jaw. My imagination.Look closer. See further. Notice how one color could be so consistent and so varied, all in the same spot.

The Big Island of Hawaii | February 2026
We've had many trips to Maui and Kauai, but never to the Big Island. We had ten days, split between the Kona Coast on the west side and the village of Volcano on the east. Highlights included a sound bath in the Kona Cloud Forest (amazing!) and witnessing Kilauea prepare for her next big show in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (as proud owners of the Geezer Pass, aka the National Parks Senior Lifetime Pass, we visited twice a day). We thought this trip would be an unwind, but it turned out to be a wind up instead. I made about fifty textured prints using kneaded erasers and a few ink pads, which was great fun. Some were done at cemeteries, but most were around our charming AirBnB in Volcano.

Route 66 | January 2026
We began the year with a NYE Amtrak train ride from Los Angeles to Albuquerque, where I felt like I was in Paul Simon's song, Homeward Bound. We rented a car and headed to Amarillo, Texas for a sweet family wedding, and then drove along Route 66, to Tucumcari and Truth or Consequences in New Mexico, Bisbee, Arizona and then to Saguaro National Park in Tuscon.
The roadtrip was fun, for sure. But on another level, it was helpful and somewhat thought-provoking to spend time with other Americans who live a life outside of our small liberal college-town bubble. Also, excellent hamburgers.
We saw some stuff.
