the new old same different tour of no regrets

mary oliver quote

I hope you don’t mind, but we’re taking a detour on this blogging journey. I’ve combined my two blogs, Tour of No Regrets and Fifty|Fifty Vision, into the refreshed and revitalized Tour of No Regrets––under the URL I know this is confusing, but for some reason, which I can’t seem to remember now, it made complete sense. Something to do one with big change now vs. lots of small changes later. Perhaps it was the “there are many wrong choices, and many right choices, so just pick one and go with it” process. Maybe a dartboard was involved. Certainly wine.

What it do know is that it’s time for me to write in one space, with one voice, and to live under one name, my own. So while I don’t promise this will be the last blog revision, in either subject matter, design or title, I am pretty sure I will always be Kim Tackett––though once in a while I am Kim Tackett-Barbaria, just to keep everyone on their toes. I’ll try to not get either of us lost.

You’ll be able to access the new and improved Tour of No Regrets from all of the usual places (,, and now,, but feel free to reset your bookmark and get ahead of the game (or you could make it really easy, and subscribe).

And what can you expect here? Why, that’s an awesome question…and I’d love to answer it with something besides “to be determined.” I suspect you’ll find the same stories that I’ve been telling on Tour of No Regrets––the day-to-day moments that make my life.  And you’ll find some of those midlife lessons that have been on Fifty|Fifty Vision. Maybe more poetry. Lots of photography. Perhaps travel pieces. Or book reviews. Coffee and cocktails. Baseball. And hopefully, more 35-word stories. My Friday link packs, Gathering Good, will still be here. Ukulele and Be Kind updates, and everything else that surprises me. I’m not always paying attention, but I am almost always astonished.

It’s a tour, and the road isn’t straight. The map is changing. Everything is better with company, so thanks for coming along.

More about how I got here on A Tale of Two Blogs.

See you around, my friends.

Thanks Cristin. It doesn’t feel streamlined today, but I know it will eventually! Isn’t that how it goes though?

  1. This makes total sense to me! I have trouble keeping up with one blog…but two would be impossible. And having under your name is terrifc because you are the author! Good luck.

  2. Someone told me that you should keep it simple and use your name because it won’t change and it will be easy for people to find you and remember you.
I look forward to following along and long as there are pictures…

  3. This is an idea that I’ve been toying with lately. I feel like choosing The Diary of an Alzheimer’s Caregiver has limited me. there are so many things I want to write about besides just Alzheimer’s and caregiving.

    • Rena, that’s what happened to me. I knew that the subjects I wanted to write about would change…so while this is tricky in the short term, I think it’s a better long term solution.
